How your school can adopt trees

"The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

When one school takes the initiative to plant a tree, so do hundreds of students. Here’s how you can participate in the Adopt a Tree Campaign this year:

  • Select a tree species - choose a species of trees that you would like to plant from our list here.
  • Demarcate a space - select an open space – away from buildings and other obstructions - where all students can come together and plant trees.
  • Collect your saplings- write in to us with your sapling requirement and the proposed date of the plantation event and we will have them ready for collection at our office. Write to aat@wwfindia.net
  • Plant your trees – the most important step, of course. Check out the ‘How to Plant a Sapling’ page for a step-by-step guide.
  • Inspire Students to look after their trees - encourage your students to pledge to look after their own sapling on a regular basis.
  • Send us pictures – Don’t forget to tell us about your saplings and how they are growing! Tag @WWFIndia and mention #AdoptATree in your tree photos on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and send us your photos so we can share them with the world!
